Michael Kapfer, Principal
Dear Middle School Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! It is with great excitement and heartfelt gratitude that I introduce myself as the new principal of Longwood Middle School. As we prepare to welcome our 5th and 6th grade students for a new school year, I want to express how honored I am to join this incredible community of learners, educators, and families.
At Longwood Middle School, we believe school should be more than a place to learn—it should be a place where every student feels seen, safe, supported, and inspired. My commitment as your principal is to build a school environment where every child is known and valued, where curiosity is encouraged, and where growth—both academic and personal—is celebrated.
We know that transitioning into upper elementary grades brings new challenges and opportunities. Longwood Middle School is unique, as it is the first time that all of our communities are coming together under one roof. Whether your child is entering this year with excitement, or stepping into it with questions and anticipation, our goal is to make sure they feel confident, cared for, and connected from day one.
As a school leader, I am grounded in the belief that strong relationships—between students, staff, and families—are the foundation of success. I will be working closely with our dedicated teachers and staff to ensure every student is not only learning, but also thriving emotionally and socially. We are here to support your children—and you—every step of the way.
You can expect clear communication, an open door, and a partnership built on trust. Whether through parent-teacher connections, family events, or simply a warm greeting at the front door, we are here to walk alongside you throughout the year.
Please keep an eye out for upcoming welcome events and back-to-school information. I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know your children’s unique strengths and stories.
Here’s to a year full of learning, laughter, and growth. Together, we are building a community where every student belongs and every family matters.
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
Michael Kapfer
